Why add
PDO AfterGlo™ to Microneedling?
It is needling with a huge boost!
PDO AfterGlo™ is a hydrating skin booster made of PDO in powder form and Hyaluronic Acid (HA). HA can smooth rough surfaces and provide a protective layer to help skin retain moisture. It also strengthens skin to improve elasticity and resilience.
PDO threads, which are composed of the same biodegradable polymer as this new serum, have been safely used in various surgeries for over 30 years and have become a leading non-invasive aesthetic procedure. PDO is an ingredient that is certified by the FDA and naturally dissolves and is absorbed by the body in about 6-12 months. As it is dissolves, it aids in the production of collagen.

Improved skin where it counts!
Improve skin tone and texture in the deeper layer, the dermis, where it counts the most. Treatments in the epidermis are helpful for a multitude of skin concerns, but our aging really begins in layers much deeper than that. The epidermis is constantly shedding, and unless your skincare is medical grade, your products are not likely absorbing beyond the top layer that is constantly sloughing off.
Microneedling helps give you access to the dermal layer where your products can be more effective. In addition to deeper product absorption, your body improves and increases the collagen and elastin fibers which give our skin better strength and elasticity. In combination with PDO AfterGlo™, PDO Max Threads, dermal fillers, and neuromodulators, Microneedling will give you the best skin all around.
FAQs
Common questions about Microneedling.
Does Microneedling hurt?
It mostly tickles, and with topical numbing, the appointment is very comfortable, and pain-free. The most sensitive areas to have treated are the nose, around the eyes, and over the lips. Needle depth is adjusted to accommodate any sensitivity. NANONEEDLING - is shallow enough that it does not require numbing, and is a very comfortable, shorter service. MICRONEEDLING - Topical numbing is generally recommended since the treatment is deeper and closer to the nerves.
Why MDPen and not another device?
After extensive research of the various devices, I chose MDPen for the following reasons: 1. I can adjust the speed, and depth of the needles, giving more control over the service. Being able to make these adjustments allows for treatment of the delicate eye area, and over the lips = better results! 2. For those of you wanting a more comfortable experience, numbing is available! 3. MDPen has formulated treatment products that actually work. During the service, higher molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid Serum (800kD) is pressed through each microchannel, delivering it to the dermal layer where it is going to have the greatest effect = plump, hydrated skin! MDPen Copper + HA Mist adds Copper Peptides that are most important in the earliest phases of healing that leads to increased collagen and elastin = firmer skin! 4. MDPen's products are clean, unscented, and formulated with minimal ingredients. This means that your skin is getting what it needs = free from chemicals, perfumes, and dyes!
How long does the appointment take?
NANONEEDLING - 20 to 30 minute treatment time, with the entire appointment taking approximately 60 minutes. MICRONEEDLING - 20 to 30 minute treatment time, with an additional 20 minutes to allow for pre-numbing. The total appointment time is approximately 75 minutes.
How Deep is Microneedling?
Microneedling penetrates up to 3mm into the dermis. At this depth, we find nerves and circulation, so that is why numbing is recomended for your comfort.
How long will my face be red?
Your skin will be quite red in the hours following your treatment. By the time you wake up the next morning, you will see a significant reduction in redness and only see a healthy glow!

How many treatments will I need?
A minimum of 3 sessions is recommended with 6 treatments giving the best outcome. The first series of services should be done 4 weeks apart with a maintenance schedule, if necessary, determined after that.
How Deep is Nanoneedling?
Nanoneedling is up to 1mm in depth, and does not penetrate the dermal layer. Becuase we don't have nerve tissue in this layer, numbing is not necessary. If you prefer to be numb, we can do so with no trouble.
What does it feel like after?
The same day, and up to 2 days after, your skin feels like it has a mild sunburn. Proper after care minimizes any discomfort. In the days following, its important to follow aftercare instructions and avoid makeup if possible. The micro-channels are open 5 - 7 days after the service. This is great news for continuing to apply Hyaluronic Acid Serum and the Copper + HA Mist. These products have several days to penetrate and really make a difference and heal the tissue while the micro-channels are still open.
Who cannot have Microneedling treatments?
Microneedling is contraindicated for the following skin concerns: active skin cancer; pustular or nodular rosacea or pustular acne; history of keloids; eczema; psoriasis; any active skin infections - fungal, viral or bacterial; scars less than 6 months old; pregnancy (due to Vitamin A topicals, and Lidocaine).
How does Microneedling help scars and stretch marks?
Scars and stretch marks lack the vascularity (blood vessels) that feed the skin. Microneedling helps bring circulation back to these areas helping the body to reduce the size and texture of scars and stretch marks. Depending on their severity and depth, scars and stretchmarks should be treated every 6 to 8 weeks instead of every 4 weeks.
What is PRP Microneedling?
PRP, short for Platelet Rich Plasme. uses your body's own healing properties found in your blood to hasten the recovery time from a microneedling sessions. By adding PRP to your microneedling session, we give your skin more "food" for repair, faster, and even better results.
